Adelaide’s Leader Cheetah are the masterminds behind my current favourite album of 2009, ‘The Sunspot Letters’. A finely crafted mix of alt-folk and moody rock, Leader Cheetah’s debut album is simply amazing for such a young band.

Leadman Dan Crannitch has an unconventional voice with hints of Bowie and Neil Young, and together with his bandmates has created a textured album that sounds both classic and original.

We were lucky enough to see these guys play in Katoomba in support of the also brilliant ‘The Middle East’, and their live set is an absolute treat. July sees them in Newcastle and Byron Bay for Splendour. A band worth seeing ASAP.
