Here’s the trailer for Martin Scorsese and Leo DiCaprio’s most recent collaboration, ‘Shutter Island’:

I debated not linking to this because it is a classic example of a trailer showing too much plot, but I figured if you are forewarned, you are forearmed. If you want to enjoy the suspense of not knowing anything about the film beforehand, steer clear.

‘Shutter Island’ is an adaptation of a pulpy 2003 thriller by Dennis Lehane. It tells the story of two U.S. Marshalls who are sent to a Federal Institution for the criminally insane to capture a violent female escapee. Once there, they are caught in a conspiracy that threatens their own sanity.

The most exciting thing about this film is the crackerjack cast Scorsese has assembled: Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Emily Mortimer, Michelle Williams, Jackie Earle Haley, and Max von Sydow. Wow. I’d watch Ruffalo and DiCaprio paint a house.

Sure, it looks a bit like Scorsese doing Stephen King and it’s probably won’t be the most original of narratives as a result, but with a cast like that, I’m sure it will at least be entertaining.
